Leviticus 26:3-13
Walking in the Blessing will cause you to stand upright and tall in the LORD. Keep in mind that Messiah has redeemed us from the curse of the Torah (the curse upon the flesh nature that has been crucified to us and circumcised from us through the death of our Lord on the Cross and by virtue of our union with Him through the operations of the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures) so that we may walk in the Blessing. (Galatians 3:13-14; Pay close attention to Romans 6-7 in preparation for Romans 8.)
Here is how the Blessing operates in us as delineated in Leviticus 26:
“If you will
follow My decrees and observe My commandments and perform them;
“Then I will
“provide your rains in their time, [1]
“And the land will give its produce [2]
“And the tree of the field will give its fruit. [3]
“Your threshing will last until the vintage, [4]
“And the vintage will last until the sowing; [5]
“You will eat your bread to satiety [6]
“And you will dwell securely in your land. [7]
“I will provide peace [Shalom] in the land [8]
“And you will lie down with none to frighten you; [9]
“I will cause wild beasts to withdraw from the land, [10]
“And a sword will not cross your land. [11]
“You will pursue your enemies; [12]
“And they will fall before you by the sword. [13]
“Five of you will pursue a hundred [14]
[5×20, a 1:20 ratio]
“And a hundred of you will pursue ten thousand [15]
[100×100, a 1:100 ratio, signaling an exponential curve of increased power]
“And your enemies will fall before you by the sword. [16]
“I will turn My attention to you, [17]
“I will make you fruitful and increase you; [18]
“And I will establish My covenant with you. [19]
“You will eat very old grain [20]
“And remove the old to make way for the new [21]
[this is the true solution to the Shemittah Year “problem”].
“I will place My Sanctuary among you; [22]
“And My Spirit will not reject you. [23]
“I will walk among you, [24]
“I will be God unto you [25]
“And you will be a people unto Me. [26]
“I am HASHEM, your God, [27]
“Who took you out of the land of Egypt from being their slaves; [28]
“I broke the staves of your yoke [29]
“And I led you erect.” [30]
[STONE TANAKH translation]
THERE ARE 3 CONDITIONS: IF you will [1] follow, [2] observe, and [3] perform.
THERE ARE 30 RESULTS: THEN I will [1] – [30].
THREE conditions, THIRTY (3X10) results.
A TEN-FOLD RETURN ON THE INVESTMENT OF YOUR OBEDIENCE TO GOD.
What follows these wonderful blessings (each of which is worth more than all the monetary wealth in the world) is the most horrific series of curses and anathemas ever invoked upon a stubborn and rebellious people. All of the curses in Leviticus 26:14 seq. came to pass in grizzly reality in the debilitated history of the Jewish People throughout their more than 24 centuries of mass dispersion among the Gentile Nations, This occurred from the initial dispersions under the Assyrians (the northern kingdom of ten tribes) and Babylon (the southern kingdom of Judah and the representative tribes within his borders) to and through the crushing dispersion under the savage Roman Empire (that final fourth Beast of Daniel’s prophecy which is mirrored in the book of Revelation). My Travelog of the year 2022 delineates this brutal history in grievous detail.
The failure of the Nation of Israel after Her deliverance from Egyptian bondage is a testament to the fact that none of us can actually save himself. We do not have the inherent capacity to perform a divine function without the continuous enabling of the Divinity Himself operating through us so that we may become Holy as He is Holy.
This realization brings us immediately to the need all human beings have for the Gospel of Salvation through reliant trust in the Son of God and for Growth in Grace of God ministered continuously through Him. For God has freely provided for us this saving grace in Yeshua ha’Mashiach—Jesus the Christ. It is only through the abiding ministry of the Holy Spirit within us, Whom Messiah gives to us from God our Father, that we are able to bring forth the fruit of the Righteousness of God. It is that Righteousness that yields for us the Blessings of the Covenant. It is those Blessings that cause us to STAND TALL in the world. (See Romans 6-8 with the Book of Galatians and with all the other passages related to the Ministry of the Holy Spirit to us; His Ministry to us is a function of the unearned Grace of God in Messiah.)
Really, my friend! How can I bring this devotion to a close when I have only begun to unfold it?
You must make up the difference. You must take these matters before the Beloved in your own prayers and in your own search.
But as a start, consider this:
Apply the three conditions of Leviticus 26 to your walk with Jesus and you will see the Gospel in the Torah.
What does it mean to “FOLLOW Jesus?”
What does it mean to “OBSERVE Jesus?”
What does it mean to “PERFORM Jesus?”
Consider this as a beginning of the answer to all three questions:
Acts 4:13 (with whole chapter as context), “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that THEY HAD BEEN WITH JESUS [Following, Observing, Performing].”
What will it take to make you STAND TALL? What will it take to “PRODUCE JESUS” in your life?” (John 13-17; Revelation 2-3; 2 Peter 1:1-11; Ephesians 1-6; Colossians 1-4; Philippians 1-4; Romans 4-8.)
